YOUR VOICE MATTERS
Get Involved: Your Voice Matters
Democracy requires all of us.
True accountability doesn't just happen on Election Day—it requires active, engaged citizens stepping up at the local level. Whether you need to verify your current legislative district, find out who represents you, or you are ready to step into the arena and run for local office yourself, we have compiled the resources you need to get started.
Find Your District & Representatives
Because of recent redistricting, many Iowans are in new districts and may have new representatives. It is crucial to know exactly who is making decisions on your behalf in Des Moines.
Make a habit of attending your local City Council, School Board meetings. or County Political Party meetings. These meetings are open to the public, and public comment periods are your opportunity to put issues directly on the record.
Make Your Voice Heard Locally
You don't have to run for office to make a massive difference. You just have to show up.
Attend Local Meetings
